RE: Swim watch advise
On Jul 14, 2010 3:08 PM CDT In: Swimmers It's frustrating swimming at pools where they don't have functioning clocks. I've used my own basic wristwatch taped to a kickboard before, and am very grateful for the digital clock at my local pool. The Oregon Scientific Swimming Watch has a big display, which is helpful for when you are building up a sweat and the goggles are getting foggy :) Olivier L. |

Swimmers log book
On Jul 13, 2010 11:56 AM CDT In: Swimmers How many of you guys and girls use a log book to track your swimming? In my competitve swmming days there weren't too many options available out there for logs, but now it seems like there are dozens of them out there. Anyone had any experience using any of them? This is the closeest I've found to the book that I used when I swam: YourSwimBook.com - Swimmers Log Book ... |

RE: mental preparation before a race! any questions?
On Jun 30, 2010 9:47 AM CDT In: Swimmers Some things i do are pray an hour or so before, then a few minutes before i take a deep breath and count to six while breathing in then hold for two then let out for seven seconds to slow my heat rate. Then i visualize my race and how i want to feel while swimming. Then i tell myself i can do this and then i jump a little and slap myself to get ready to race and take more slow breaths. I think it's important to tell yourself you can do what you want, tell yourself your the fastest swimmer there or that you will achieve your goal. ... |
