Hey my name is Madalyn Thompson. I love swim room it is the best place in the whole word of websites. IT NEATO! I went in districts in the 50 free and the 100 free and the free relay with Brooke Koch, Sarah Eck, Me, and Danielle McPherson ( in that order). In the 50 free i got a 27.00 placed 12th i needed 9th to go to states though, that really sucked for me, but in my 100 I got a 59.93 which that is good for my team ( I think) i placed 12th in that too and in the free relay we got a 1.46.81 and we placed 2nd which is really good for me. I am a 13 and under, I am 14 years old. I just went to states for Pennsylvania in my free relay and we took 9th with a 1.46.73 which was time off so it was good.
I just went to see Pride the movie and it was the best ever! The best line in the movie is, "My 50 to your 20 says...negro PLEASE." haha! I went with my best friends EVER (Samantha Kennnelley and Brooke Koch). My Best friends and I just went to Penn State to see the 12 and unders the day before our states and we went around campus and like got lost and then we walked around for like 3 hours and just did everything. We went to the Creamery and then the elevator which made me laugh the whole time we were in it haha. Then we found a dead bird at the top of the car deck and took like 50 pictures of it. Then went around and started pantsing each other and brooke just didnt care just let her pants down around campus. Then we found a statue and started taking pictures with that. We just acted like it was our best friend. Then my friend brooke threw my shoe in the mud then i ran away and just sat there and waited for them to come back but they rather go stuff there mouths with food. After I went around campus once or twice I found them stuffing their faces with preztels. I was laughing so hard inside.
Well got to go!

okey dokey so just a refresher on what all happened over the weekend.
friday - omg challenge day was a beast! i think i actually went deaf for a brief second or two, but i'm good now! we ended up losing to those guys but i don't think they should have won cause they have bad sportsmanship. this guy i know, ryan, was talking smack the next day. he said that the only reason we won the volleyball match was because they guys don't have a volleyball team so they were at more of a disadvantage and that we won the spirit contest because guys can't scream as loud as girls can! is that not pathetic?!? can't they just be happy with winning seeing how this is the first time they have EVER won!!!
saturday - ok i went to a crawfish broil at my brothers baseball team party, and let me tell you, the first crawfish of the season tasted great! the guy whoses house it was at is really rich so they had the nicest yard with tons of food! then me angela went to see PRIDE and it was amazing! like, the whole movie was filmed in my hometown in louisiana. the pool they used for the championships is the pool i swim year-round in. and one of my coaches mark was an extra in it so when we saw him in it we almost jumped out of our seats!
sunday - this was kind of boring cuase i had to wake up at 7 to go to 8:00 mass and then right after i went to do community service hours at the safe house. then i had to go grocery shopping but i did see casey one of my coaches for my high school team. and tomorrow i get to go back to swim practice! yaayy! i just realized that i missed two practices last week which is really weird for me cause i usually don't miss any!
well i'm tired so goodnight.
untill next time

I just wanted to say KUDOS to the Rockdale Riptides for our performance at the northern divisional meet this weekend. We had some incredible swims !!! We finished 10th but thats ok ! We only had 30 swimmers total go and some could not attend both days but we still earned quit a few points and had a few 1st place finishes and several top 10... For my son all I can say is WOW !!! He swam 2 of the most exciting breaststroke races I have seen. They were swam with near perfection and the stratagey was perfect ! Congrats to Matthew for being the 2007 Northern Divisional Champion in the 100 and 200 yrd breaststroke !!! Way to go!

I'm going to say the story of New Englands and how it almost got cancelled:
-They were supposed to be at brown, but brown was worried the roof would fall down
-They asked harvard if they could hold it
-Harvard said maybe, but if not the meet would be cancelled.
The meet cancelled!!!??????!!!! How can that be!!!! I have worked my BUT off this year to qualify, they can not cancel the meet
-Harvard can have the meet
O.K. maybe i had some false worries, and I am really happy to have it at harvard because it is my absolute favorite pool, but i was still really anxious. Oh well, now i have mes in a week so i'm tapering. I love tapering.

Hello again,
So I didn't get challenge day tickets and I was so angry at all our spaztic freshmen who got there 30 minutes before ticktets went on sale. Well I didn't get to go but Emily went and I made sure she told me the results ASAP! Ok so the boys won for the first time but, all they did was make us angry! You boys just wait, We are comming back stronger and harder next year! I don't think there are any boys here from that school but if there are you know who you are! Ya'll better watch you backs next year and your student council and principal getter gget ready to get pied!
Yesterday, Emily went to see Pride. It was so good and It really spoke to me about the passion a swimmer has for the sport. I didn't realize this but all of it was made in My hometown! Some of it was in this cool hole in the wall burger joint downtown. And of course there was the championships where we saw our coach, mark, It was hillarious! But overall it was really good. I really have to hold back so I don't give too much away.
Since joining swimroom, I have really had a chance to get to know the beastly swimmers as people not just beastly swimers. Before I came here, I knew Michael Phelps, and I had heard the names of Ian Crocker, Jendrick, Thorpe and that is about it. I have really gotten to know the other swimmers and I am so glad. I never really realized how deep Ian Crocker is! He has such an interesting way of putting things!
Ok enough for now!
Carpe Diem

Phelps gets gold
With World Championships kicking off in the middle of the night here in the States, fans woke up to find how the SwimRoom crew did "Down Under".
Michael Phelps dove in first for Team USA in the 400m free relay, with Neil Walker, Cullen Jones and Jason Lezak coming together to post a 3:12.72 and take first over the late-charging Italian team. For Phelps, it is his first medal of these Championships.
In other final action, Katie Hoff finished fourth in the 400m freestlye, posting a 4:05.65. Frenchwoman Laure Manaudou won the event in a championships record-time of 4:02.61. Hoff had a busy night as she led all qualifiers in the 200m IM, touching in 2:11.75. The second-highest qualifier is her SwimRoom.com "teammate" Kirsty Coventry. Coventry touched in 2:12.50, and will race Hoff in the finals on Monday night.
The final SwimRoom.com swimmer in the water last night was Ian Crocker. Crocker qualified as the second-seed in the 50m fly, posting a 23.42. South Africa's Roland Schoeman posted the fastest time of the night, touching in 23.18.
You can follow all the action via Omega Timing's live updates from the event. Check out www.OmegaTiming.com for all the action.
